Now that's "edu-tainment"
Peel Zoo takes education very seriously. However, we also think it should be fun. That's why we help schools with what we call "edu-tainment".
Our goal with "edu-tainment" is to support teachers in the delivery of a variety of educational subjects. These subjects might include Research Skills, Science, Animal Care, Ecosystems, Conservation, English, and even the Arts.
Peel Zoo values Education, Animal Care, and Conservation. What's more, we believe the best way to nurture these values in children is to offer them hands on, practical, and very real experiences. This approach really motivates student learning.
The experienced staff at Peel Zoo offer animal based activities that range from observation, animal care, safe animal handling, and facts about each animal and the ecosystem in which they live.
If you are interested in incorporating Peel Zoo "edu-tainment" into your curriculum, we suggest you consider at least two options.

OPTION 2: Incursion to your school
The cost for a Zoo2U Incursion depends upon student numbers and the time you require Peel Zoo on site. To discuss your requirements, call the Zoo on the number below. Ask for Narelle, as she is the best person to help you get up close and personal with animals such as snakes, lizards, ferrets, and birds.
Peel Zoo can tailor the Zoo2U Incursion to meet individual teaching requirements. We recommend discussing your needs before booking to ensure maximum benefit to students during the Incursion.
For an additional fee, we can also do presentations on venomous snakes. These presentations include information about the different species found in the local area, how they breed, and what they eat. This presentation also includes an interactive first aid demonstration, so you can learn what to do if someone is bitten by a venomous snake.
Please inform us at the time of booking if you would like the venomous snake presentation as part of your Incursion/Excursion.
